June is called “unreasonably sour-tempered”. The truth is that he’s just irritable because he dislikes being awake. He’s not necessarily narcoleptic, but he tends to fall asleep a lot unless he drinks copious amounts of caffeine or takes (during hunts and missions) stay-awake pills. When he happens to be awake by his own choice, he’s actually pretty chipper.

His perennial sleepiness is also the reason why he didn’t graduate from Beacon on time and why Professor Ozpin just sort of accepted his prolonged existence in the academy.

He doesn't like to bring up the scars. Never ask about them.

Finally finished Juniper! I half-assed a lot of things including (but not limited to) his weapon. I wanted to add other angles of Mirage Talon so people could see how the katar’s handle (also the gun’s handle) slides down from a small niche at the top of the blade’s sheathe to fit into the wielder’s hand when about to be used, but I got a little lazy.

His symbol, tattoo, and neck scars are references to his origin fairy tale, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Juni… . If you read it, you’ll get an idea of where the scars came from.

I like to think that Juniper’s either this really late graduate, or a T.A. the headmaster keeps around because he’s actually a competent fighter. Also, I wanted him to be a potty-mouth. I still do, to some extent.
